deedeedynamo2x2webBoston-based surgeon and author Dr. Oneeka Williams was the featured speaker at the Rochdale Early Advantage Charter School (REACS) in Jamaica, New York, on November 22.

Dr. Williams, a Harvard Medical School graduate who ranks among the top urologic surgeons in the United States, is committed to inspiring all children, and especially girls, towards a greater interest in science, a positive attitude and the pursuit of excellence in all their endeavors.

Dr. Williams’ first children’s book Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Mission to Pluto was published earlier this year, and her second children’s book Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Meteorite Mission is due out this Thanksgiving.

The Rochdale School observed a CAREER DAY on November 20, to be followed in two days by a DR. DEE DEE DYNAMO DAY on November 22. All students will receive copies of the book and will wear a special Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo-emblazoned Tee Shirt. School administrators are looking forward to Dr. Williams’ appearance and have stated: “We anticipate this being a wonderful learning experience for the children and our hope is that Dr. Williams will be able to inspire our college-bound students, Kindergarten–Grade 4, to think favorably about their education and what it takes to be all they can be.”

REACS is committed to a balanced multi-literacy approach offering each student a challenging Early College Preparatory education that develops character and critical thinking ability infused with family and social values to support life-long learning, leadership and productive citizenship.
