Consistent with the University’s upward trajectory, all athletic programs were elevated from NCAA Division II to Division I as a member of the America East Conference, effective July 1, 2013.

Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement, with a dotted line to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, the Associate Athletic Director for Advancement will be responsible for all aspects of annual and major gifts fundraising for the Athletic Department.

H/She will serve as a liaison to the Athletic Department and Athletic Director on all Advancement activities; Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Major Gifts and Special Events to increase donor participation and philanthropic support to Athletics. The Associate Athletic Director for Advancement will develop a comprehensive; Advancement plan for the Athletic Department, and coordinate with the individual sport coaches to determine a comprehensive advancement plan inclusive of constituent engagement, communications, events, solicitation and stewardship for each sport. In conjunction with the Annual Giving Team, h/she will develop a comprehensive strategy for mail, phone and email solicitations to drive annual revenue to the Athletic Department. This individual will develop strategy to define and expand the Soaring River Hawk Club and other special giving clubs for individual sports. In conjunction with the Major Gifts Team, h/she will cultivate 200-250 major gift and corporate prospects to drive endowment and capital revenue to the Athletic Department. This individual will develop a suite of collateral materials to support athletic fundraising inclusive of event invitations, annual giving solicitations/brochures, and Case for Support materials. As part of the Athletic External Operations team, establish key working relationships with Athletic Department personnel, specifically the Athletic Administration and coaches of individual sports. Related duties as assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Principal Gifts and/or the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred from a recognized college or university
– Minimum of five to seven years relevant experience with a proven track record in advancement or athletics
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Preferred Qualifications:

-Top-notch relationship building skills and internal organizational skills are a must
– Experience in higher education and managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment is preferred
– Experience in athletics in an NCAA Division I institution is preferred
– Prior fundraising experience and knowledge of advancement functions in complex organizations preferred
