U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Observes the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights joins the nation in celebrating Dr. King’s legacy and his many contributions to civil rights. Between 1957 and 1968, Dr. King journeyed over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times for the advancement of civil rights. Dr. King captured the attention of the world through his actions and inspired a nation to dream, by sharing his speech found at http://www.archives.gov/press/exhibits/dream-speech.pdf.
