New York City will celebrate the 60th birthday of Queen Afua, the internationally-known,best-selling author, holistic wellness entrepreneur and highly sought after natural health practitioner. Her life and legacy will be celebrated during a wellness gala on Saturday, August 24, 2013 ( 3 pm – 9 pm) at the Nicholas Bookstore (570 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, New York). “I share sacred tools to live in the 21st century,” says Queen Afua, who has published essays and articles in Essence Magazine, Black Elegance, the Amsterdam News and Caribbean Times. A highly sought after lecturer, she has shared her message of health and longevity at NASA, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and to audiences in the Virgin Islands, Canada and Europe. Her celebrity clients include Stevie Wonder, Iyanla Vanzant, Erykah Badu, John Amos, Vanessa Williams, amongst others.
“Today, we need to continue to promote healing and wellness in the home and inspire longevity via variety of health strategies,” she adds. “Also, we need to educate people about how addictive sugar is, learn more about detox and identify ways to cut back on our portions”.
During the course of her career, Queen Afua has guided men and women from around the world on a holistic transformation journey to the Global City of Wellness, a set of schools with a curriculum to instruct individuals and train leaders in principles for achieving personal and global optimal wellness.

With this celebration, Queen Afua now celebrates some 40 plus years of holistic research and practice as well as her trainings which have been provided globally to thousands of students. Queen Afua and her sons,second generation healers, will be facilitating a Fall Tour to major cities throughout the US sharing the principles of healing through Introduction Intensives.
