Twinters 3645034he Winters Group, a global diversity and inclusion consulting firm, announced today their plans to host a live, complimentary virtual learning lab entitled, “Trauma and Its Impact on the Workplace During the Age of #BlackLivesMatter.” The virtual learning lab is a part of their “Let’s Talk About It Series,” and is being hosted in response to last week’s killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police and the violent reactions that followed.

“Over the past few years, we’ve experienced recurring incidents of Black people losing their lives at the hands of public servants. While, social media and camera phones have increased the level of visibility and awareness of these occurrences, these images and the rhetoric that follows can be very traumatizing,” said Mary-Frances Winters, The Winters Group CEO. “These events can have a tremendous impact on employees, and companies need to be prepared to support them.”

The “Let’s Talk About It Series” is designed to provide a safe space to discuss the difficult topics around diversity and inclusion. This session, in particular, will provide:

  • A forum for open dialogue on the recent tragedies;
  • Coping mechanisms for employees of color who feel impacted;
  • Tactics for non-people of color who want to be allies in combating racial injustice; and
  • Strategies for leaders to create supportive, inclusive work environments and spaces following tragedies.

The virtual learning lab will take place on July 25th at 2:00PM EDT, and will be co-facilitated by Mary-Frances Winters, Brittany J. Harris, and Travis Jones of The Winters Group. Leaders and employees, at all levels, who are interested in attending can register by clicking, here.
