40th Anniversary Celebrity Golf Tournament at Andrews Air Force Base Golf Course
National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) National President Gregory A. Thomas, and Executive Director Dwayne Crawford announced the NOBLE 40th Anniversary Celebrity Golf Tournament Fundraiser at the Law & Legends Breakfast of Champions at the Harvard Club of New York City. Four-time NBA All-Star Otis Birdsong and the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) collaborated with NOBLE for the event, which included NBA All-Star Nate “Tiny” Archibald, NOBLE members and mentees, and national and regional leaders. The 40th Anniversary Celebrity Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 16th, at the Andrews Air Force Base Golf Course, Washington, D.C. Golf packages include registration, 18 holes of golf, breakfast, lunch, silent auction and awards dinner. Check in and drive range begins at 11:30 a.m.
The golf tournament will serve as a kick off for the 40th Anniversary Training Conference at the Wardman Park Marriott, Washington, D.C. The convention offers a wide array of plenaries, professional receptions, forums and workshops and is the largest gathering of international African-American law enforcement executives. This year’s conference will honor former United States Attorney General Eric Holder and feature keynote speaker, Dr. Lee Brown, former New York City Police Commissioner and Houston Mayor, among other distinguished past and present leaders in law enforcement.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the NOBLE National Scholarship and The Law & Your Community educational program. Recognized by the Department of Justice for its work with youth in the community, The Law & Your Community is a hands-on interactive training program for young people ages 13-18 designed to improve their communications with law enforcement officers and their understanding of federal, state, and local laws. The major components of the program focus on citizenship, basic laws, and law enforcement engagement. The 40th Anniversary Celebrity Golf Tournament is open to the general public and all are welcome.
