Position oversees a broad range of planning, research, and evaluation processes in support of the College’s goals and initiatives. Responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of new and existing research instruments designed to assess key institutional outcomes and indicators of institutional effectiveness. Position supports the information needs of the President’s cabinet and senior administration through the comprehensive collection, statistical analysis and dissemination of research findings to inform the planning, budgeting, decision-making, grant writing and goal-setting activities of the College. Coordinates and responds to surveys from both external agencies and internal constituencies and serves to provide institutional reporting and analytical capabilities through centralized data management processes. A primary responsibility is ensuring the integrity and consistency of the data provided to institutional decision-makers, governmental agencies and other internal and external constituencies.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline and 3-5 years professional experience working in a higher education environment in a role requiring use and production of reports and statistics. Experience with applied social science research, statistical theory, quantitative and qualitative research methods highly desired. Knowledge of and familiarity with higher education enterprise data systems and the ability to extract data and translate into useful academic reports. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and conduct complex research and assessment projects along with expertise in the use of technology tools to assist in the collection and analysis of data and the development of custom reports. Ability to think critically, recognize meaningful trends, and assist with making projections. Strong information technology literacy skills including use of spreadsheets, statistical analysis packages (SPSS, SAS, etc.); familiarity with relational database systems (MS SQL preferred), query syntax and report writing software; high level word processing and internet research skills a must. Ability to prepare written descriptions of data to enable users to locate, understand and utilize relevant portions of generated reports essential. Familiarity with student information and administrative computing systems and knowledge of curriculum, academic policies and procedures, and the functions of the registrar’s office. Demonstrated ability to clearly organize and communicate complex research designs, analytic frameworks and statistical results to diverse campus constituencies. Impeccable degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Requires creativity, self-starter skills and the ability to set priorities and balance competing demands. Experience with design and maintenance of web-accessible on-demand data reporting systems a plus. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work collegially with administrators, faculty, and other constituents. Strong written and oral communication skills.
