Interactive Military History Tabloid Expands Public Access to the Legacy of Brigadier General Charles Young

The new digital edition makes Reveille immediately accessible to readers throughout the United States and abroad, providing an interactive format that allows the public to explore the history of General Young, whose remarkable military career, diplomatic service, and educational leadership helped shape American history.
The publication also documents the successful national campaign that resulted in General Young’s posthumous promotion to Brigadier General by the United States Army, an effort led by Charles Blatcher III after decades of historical research, public education, and advocacy.
“The goal in seeking the posthumous promotion of Charles Young goes beyond the promotion,” said Charles Blatcher III, Publisher of Golden Buffalo Publications and Chairman of the National Coalition of Black Veteran Organizations. “It is equally important that the public is made aware of his history. The history validates the years spent advocating for the promotion.”
Blatcher noted that the electronic release represents another milestone in Golden Buffalo Publications’ continuing mission to preserve and promote the history of African Americans in military service through innovative educational outreach.
Distribution of the printed edition of Reveille is being coordinated through member organizations of the National Coalition of Black Veteran Organizations (NCBVO), whose coalition partners have been asked to serve as local distribution centers in selected communities nationwide. The initiative reflects the Coalition’s commitment to ensuring that the remarkable story of Brigadier General Charles Young reaches churches, veterans, educators, students, and families throughout the country.
The dual electronic and print distribution strategy is expected to significantly expand public awareness of General Young’s legacy while encouraging greater appreciation for the contributions of African Americans to the military history of the United States.
