 Assistant Database Administrator

This position is responsible for the end-user training, account management and Tier-2 level support for the Administrative Computing System. Position will manage access to the system and validate all end-users through training in the use of available tools to support specific business processes. Individual works closely with the IT Data Team to support the Administrative Computing system.

 

  • As a key member of the IT Data Team, work cooperatively with core units of the Division of Academic and Administrative Technology on the maintenance, support and end-user training of the Administrative System, including resolution of any assigned SysAid Help Desk support tickets.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular end-user training sessions targeted to the unique business needs of each campus office/department.
  • Maintain and manage provisioning of end-user accounts, including assigning system privileges and permissions, within the administrative system and provides Tier-2 Level support for end-users across all departments and campus locations.
  • Responsible for ongoing data maintenance and clean-up of ERP system data.

 

Qualifications: Candidates must have minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master’s in Information Technology, Information Systems or related field preferred. Minimum 1-3 years experience supporting enterprise-wide database system(s); direct experience supporting higher education ERP platform(s) desired. Candidates must have demonstrated experience with database administration and support including, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL, stored procedures, database backup, maintenance and security procedures, etc. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver web-accessible reporting tools; experience with effective data warehouse strategies desired. Applicants must have excellent problem solving and advanced troubleshooting skills along with strong organizational skills. Previous training and/or teaching experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and must successfully pass pre-employment background check including criminal background check.
