Alberta Premier Alison Redford shared a statement in response to the outcome of the 2012 U.S. presidential election. Here is an excerpt from her remarks:
“On behalf of the Government of Alberta I would like to extend congratulations to President Barack Obama on being elected to his second term as President of the United States. All of the women and men – win or lose – who put their names forward in Senate, House of Representatives and state-level elections today also deserve sincere recognition for the noble goal of serving on behalf of the American people.
“As our largest trading partner, our neighbour and our friend we look forward to continuing to work closely with the President, members of the administration and all of Congress, to strengthen one of the world’s most important and successful relationships.”
